BEST TIME OF THE YEAR
Winter months from May through to August for mammals.
December through to March following the rains for bird watching.
BUDGET
Moderately priced chalet options within the three park camps (Okaukuejo, Halali and Namutoni) and a choice of safari lodges outside the park ranging from moderate to expensive.
GETTING THERE
Overland from Windhoek or Swakopmund as part of a scheduled itinerary or by air on a chartered flight as part of a fly-in safari.
THINGS TO DO
Game viewing by driving around or simply relaxing at an active waterhole watching the wildlife come and go.
Photographic opportunities are many and highly varied from wildlife to scenic.
Bird watching within the mix of habitats from salt pan and open plain to broad leafed woodland and thornbush is excellent.
Waterhole viewing by flood light at night within the camps is a very special experience.
WHERE TO STAY
Either in the rest camp chalets in the park or one of the many lodges to the south and east of the Park entry gates depending on personal preference and budget considerations.
